As the temperatures begin to change, it is important to allow your body to healthily acclimate to the coming of winter. Often the cold and those bone chilling winter winds leave us feeling stiff, and dry, I don’t know about you but I always find myself hunching down to keep the warmth in my body.
So here are some things that we at Mana like to do to keep ourselves feeling warm and preserving our health for the winter.
- Try a Yoga Class
There are many different types of yoga, and likely there are numerous studios in your city. Often studios will have new student rates or specials to welcome you to the practice.
2. Fill your Home with Candles
We at Mana have a special place in our hearts for candles, they provide immediate warmth and light but they also add a touch of magic to any space. Of course, they also have the added benefit of making your home or room smell amazing.
(Fun fact, November is national candle month)
3. Make a morning routine
Likely you already have your own morning routine, but perhaps each morning start by adding ten minutes of quiet meditation, even simply being aware as you breathe in and out. This will immediately relax both your muscles and your mind so that when you go out into the cold, the tension has left both your body and your mind.
4. Introduce new things into your diet
Some favorites of mine lately have been bone broth and apple cider vinegar. Bone broth is traditionally sipped, and provides enormous amounts of calcium and minerals, not only is it hot and satisfying to sip on throughout the day, it is tremendously healthy and great for your immune system.
5. Get a Massage
Every now and then we all need to treat ourselves, and this is one of my favorite ways. Not only does it make you feel pampered and amazing, but it also is very important in the winter months to keep your body from getting cramped and your muscles from getting injured.
What do you do to keep your body and mind healthy during the winter months?

With love, from Mana
